by | Aug 9, 2023 | Travel | 0 comments

Mandarmani tourist places might not seem plenty because the area is still developing. When we reached the bus stop when travelling from Kolkata, we took a tuktuk  and went right to our hotel.

The area around was filled with trees and shrubs with tiny houses in between. Upon reaching near our hotel, we realized that more properties were being built.

Since we were three girls travelling for a chill weekend, we decided to stay in the hotel. We only saw a masjid while returning and took photos of it from outside.

Well, that being said, there are things to do in Mandarmani for the travel enthusiasts. Here I have listed you all that you can see and do when visiting.

Noorani Masjid Mandarmani Beach Road

Mandarmani tourism

A small village located in the district of East Midnapore in West Bengal, Mandarmani has been attracting tourists for years.

Situated around 180 km from Dumdum airport in Kolkata, Mandarmani is arguably the largest drivable beach in India. This place is for you if you want to avoid opting for a congested beach like Digha.

Here in Mandarmani, you can relax a few days away from the hustle and bustle of big cities.

Witness the red crabs crawling through the shore, the casuarina trees nodding at you, and the churning of the sea waves. To explore the Mandarmani tourist places choose a time from October to February.

How to reach

Reaching Mandarmani is very easy since the place is well connected by road to Kolkata.

Since Mandarmani has no railway station, you must get to Digha railway station if you need to take the train.

Mandarmani is around 30 km away from Digha.

You can also book a private car from Kolkata to reach Mandarmani on time.

Beach

Mandarmani is famous for having a long, wide beach spanning around 13 km.

You can walk, lay in the sun or enjoy outdoor activities.

The tranquillity of Mandarmani is the main reason why people prefer coming here.

Overall, Mandarmani Beach is a peaceful gateway especially because it does not have a lot of crowd.

When you say Mandarmani, you definitely mean the sea beach. Around 180 km away from Kolkata, Mandarmani beach is serene and peaceful. The shallow water of Mandarmani Beach makes the place even more accessible.

Indeed, Mandarmani beach has yet to gain as much popularity as Digha. But this place is similar to any other beach location in India.

As a visitor, you need to keep in mind not to visit during monsoon. If you want to make some good memories, choose to stay at one of the beach resorts. Lastly, check out the stalls at the beach to taste some of the best seafood.

Mandarmani beach is one of the most famous locations in West Bengal. That said, the place hasn’t yet gotten the praise it deserves. However, we can always change this scenario by exploring it more often. Also, many more properties seem to develop and the place might soon have a lot more stay options.

Shankarpur Beach

Shankarpur is another pristine location, just like the beach in Digha. It was the first place where me and Priyo went seven years back and that is also where our love story began.

Shankarpur is a den for the fishermen who wake up early to catch fish using their gigantic nets. This one is also remote, away from the prying eyes.

If you live in modern types yet possess an old soul — Shakarpur beach could be everything you hope for. It will provide you with the calm that you long for. Here you will definitely find something greater between the eucalyptus and tamarisk trees.
