What Jaipur Means to Me

This post got deleted once and has now been reposted.

I had lost all my blog posts and had to start from scratch.

Thankfully I had back up and there weren’t too many content pieces.

Pro tip: always have back UP!

The following words were written in Kolkata before I was moving to Jaipur.

This post might seem irrelevant but this is where I will come back if I ever want to give  up.

Let’s go!

What’s the fuss?

My blog has been stagnant for the past three to four months since I had begun posting here.

I didn’t have any writer’s block, in fact, the three existing articles in this website currently are just dummies.

This is probably my one and only raw post, which I am writing without SEO or keeping any goal in mind.

This post is going to go down in the HISTORY of Touresham and one day I am going to look back and imagine where it all began.

Yes!

It has begun, my journey,

My journey towards finding what I am here for.

My journey towards understanding what life is, what this world is, where am I and why I am here.

I do not have the answers to any, BUT the fact that I have so many questions, it all began here.

What Jaipur means to me and why?

It has been 11 months since I went to Jaipur for the third time – this time after 19 or 20 years.

I went there twice before as a child and destiny was destined.

Today I am writing this blog because I realized I was always in love with people more than myself.

I have still not been able to change that, BUT one fine day, I went back to Jaipur, I went back there after 19 years and BAM… I didn’t know I could fall in love with a place more than I could fall in love with people.

It didn’t strike me then, it didn’t strike when my boyfriend’s client from Kota, Rajasthan, said

“aap toh Priyo se bhi zyada Jaipur se pyaar karte ho.”

BUT it did strike me now.

I looked back at the past one year since I have been over-analyzing every Instagram tactic in order to grow my channel.

BUT, I gotta admit like Namita Thappar,

“ismein meri expertise nahi hai”

AGAIN, I also got to admit that I cannot be OUT.

So, expertise jismein hai, uske upar sara dhyan lagake, it was finally time to start my journey.

My journey of creating my own personal brand TOUResham.

Of course, it’s all things related to travel. But when someone asks me what travel means to me, it is a combination of history, cultures, spirituality, and food.

If I had to choose one among all of these, I would choose history.

I am here for ‘navigating roots’, be it India, the world, or the Universe.

Why Jaipur?

We have been sent here to advance and develop every day.

BUT, what about the origin? The origin from where it all began?

Jaipur inspires me because 275 years ago a king made a city that guides can still utilize as a site to offer to their clients, a city that has held heritage, a city where we go when we want to feel the warmth among people and there famous onion kachoris, a city that has been beautifully made from one gate to another, from one fort to another, from one palace to another, from one person to another.

My heart is in Jaipur and I fell in love with a place more than I could fall in love with anything else. Thus, I began the search for more places where I would leave a little bit of me and where I’d take a little bit of them.
